Radio Meeting Notes from February 6th, 2010

In Attendance

Richard Slawsky Bill Engebretson Cherise Williams John Hicks Matt Brier Martin Larsen J. Stone

Finance Update

Options for one-time donations and on-going subscriptions have been added to the wxbh.org website. To date we have one ongoing membership/subscription at the $10.00 level.

A business plan outlining current debt and some steps to generating money to pay off the debt has been created and will be presented to the BrickHouse.

Brainstorming session

We need to determine our potential audience so we have the data for underwriters. One possible source is census data for the area codes covered by the station.

All agree that the transmitter antenna needs to be raised so we can expand our coverage area. Martin has put forth an offer to cover the costs in return for underwriting for a website he is setting up. This was discussed and agreed upon.

We discussed the possibility of moving the stream origination computer to Richard's house to directly plug into the transmitter. This may help increase the volume in the signal and would eliminated a break point in broadcasting.

The need for an online how-to guide for programming was discussed.

The need to update our uploading process to help streamline the play list creation process was discussed. The idea to create individual accounts and link them to a specific directory on the broadcast computer was tossed around.

A new one sheet flyer has been created to post around town. After some final edits it will be added to the website for promotional purposes. The tri-fold brochure has also been updated and will be added to the website.

Immediate steps

Removing the duplicate station id at the top of every hour.

A promo spot for memberships needs to be recorded and uploaded.
