Hi i am new to this website and i think i would like to get involved with the brycc house.Now i have noticed a bit of a slant to the left politically on this site and my point of views are more to the right but i don't think that matters.I like what this place is trying to do and i would like to meet up with you guys and lend a hand.I even have a idea for a new group but it involves alternative sexual life styles and may be to risque.But i would love to here from you guys and hope to meet up soon. :)

Welcome, conservativeartgirl. You're right. It don't matter if you're left or right (as MJ would put it). Our DIY values appeal to a broad political spectrum. (And our libertarian/anarchist friends say that spectrum isn't left/right but circular. We meet in the middle.) I look forward to meeting you.

As for alternative sexual life styles, I'm surprised we don't have a basic LBGTQ group going since we certainly have LBGTQ members. Feel free to create a website group (http://brickhouse.cc/SelectGroups) on whatever alternative sexual life style you like (so long as it isn't illegal ... or oppressive ... [does that rule out S/M?]). You may have to recruit members, however, since right now we're not getting a lot of activity on the site ... and we're all pretty shy about sex. :)

Welcome! Great to have a new member to add to our collective. I actually might be interested in your idea for a group on alternative sexual lifestyles, that is something else I myself am interested in. I'm not sure what the BH's policy on that is, but I would love to hear more. Again, welcome.

By the way, a discussion/support/special interest group on SM would not be oppressive or abusive if handled responsibly, (in real life and practice SM is not oppressive or harmful, or at least is not supposed to be. A discussion group would clear that up). I don't think it would be ethical to have anything more...um...intimate for lack of a better word...actually at the BH. Anything like that would have to be totally independent. But a simple talking shop and exploitative group on SM would not be a bad idea, and it would be something unique that not many organizations like us have dared to delve in, so we might attract many people who had otherwise been shy about the subject. Just my two cents...
