'Garbage Dreams' an eye-opener for Fern Creek students

A new documentary that explores the lives of people who make a living collecting and recycling trash around Cairo, Egypt, had some students at Fern Creek Traditional High School exploring their impact on the environment.
The film “Garbage Dreams” by Mai Iskander was shown Thursday at Fern Creek High as part of a new cinema series organized by the school's film club, the Louisville Film Society and Kentucky Educational Television. Through the partnership, films are shown at the school a month before they're broadcast on KET. ...
